GOOD ON YOU CONOR – SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND.
A Dundalk IT lecturer could be set to confirm the existence of a new passage tomb in the Boyne Valley in the New Year.
Dr Conor Brady, who has been lecturing in archaeology in Dundalk since 2002, and geophysicist Kevin Barton are set to use specialist radar equipment to find the tomb, which is located just a short distance from Newgrange.
According to Celtic mythology, the first Irish bard Amergin was buried at Millmount in Drogheda. Now Dr Brady believes there is a strong possibility that there is a passage chamber inside the mound.
The Millmount Archaeological Remote Sensing (MARS) project will produce its first results in the New Year.
